Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting as a reporter at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became an anchor and morning reporter for WCBD TV. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police in DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. This led to the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. Following her stint living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative journalist. She then joined Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. The present role of O'Dell as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. The anchor has hosted a number of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She co-hosted both Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
